Lies.

Have you ever told a lie? If you just said no, then you're lying.

It may just be my opinion but I believe everybody has told a lie. Maybe you didn't do it on purpose, maybe it was so small you wouldn't consider it a lie. But, does that mean you've never told a lie; or that you've never told a big lie?

Bending the truth, in my opinion, also counts as lying. Exagerating a story? Yes, that's also a lie in my book.

  1. i agree
lying is everything you said above, and people do it so often that they make up "bending the truth" and "white lies" so it doesn't look so bad on them. Exaggerating is bending the truth because it WAS a real event, only you're re-telling the story to make it look better; usually people try to make themselves look better if they were involved in a story. And that's where i find it leads to people feeling self-concious. Because when they "exaggerate" (in other words : bend the truth) they make themselves look better and then they might not actually be able to achieve what they said they did. plus there is also the guilt that they lied about themselves. Not sure. If i lied about myself i would feel pretty bad about it too, which i'm sure i have in the past :p

  2. Totally agree. You know people who tell a story, and they completely blow it out to make funnier than it was. And you're there like, I WAS TEHRE, YOU LIAR, THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN.
Yeah, I think that counts as lying too. And I think that everyone is guilty of doing this at least once in their life.

  3. Lying is the easiest way to get what you want. Besides sometimes lies are good.

If you ask me if you're fat do you want me to say yes? (Well I will anyways regardless if you are or not because it's a stupid question). Still though, some people want to be lied to.

No one wants to be told that people hate them, that their new pants are ugly, that Fluffy died not ran away to a farm.

The whole world is just one big lie we're all tangled in.

  4. I think our lying career starts when we're about two. You know, when we get into the cupboards and pull out and empty out anything we can. Then when we're confronted about it we lie just to cover our skin. It's a guilt thing, a defense. I mean, if it were between having to clean up your mess and lying, I'd definitely go for the lie. Hey, if you can get away with it than why not, right?
Where white lies are concerned though, I believe some truths just don't need to be told. There's a time and place for every lie and every truth. I think the truth is only needed when it really counts.
